While no specific vaccinations are required to enter Morocco, it’s recommended to be up-to-date on routine vaccines like measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), and tetanus. The CDC also suggests Hepatitis A and Typhoid vaccines, as they can protect you from food- and water-borne illnesses. Please consult with your doctor or travel clinic for personalized advice.

Yes, Morocco is considered a safe destination for tourists. As with any international travel, you should exercise standard precautions, such as keeping your valuables secure, being aware of your surroundings, and avoiding isolated areas at night.

Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Citizens of many countries, including the United States, Canada, the UK, and the EU, can stay in Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. Be sure to check with your local Moroccan consulate or embassy for up-to-date information.

Morocco’s currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). While cash is widely used, especially in markets and smaller towns, many hotels, restaurants, and shops in larger cities accept credit cards. We recommend carrying some cash in Dirham for convenience. Bring your bank card. ATMs are available for procuring Dirham.

Morocco’s climate varies by region. In general:

  • Summers (June–August) can be very hot, especially in the desert.
  • Winters (December–February) are mild but can be chilly in the evenings, especially in the mountains and the desert.
  • Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November) offer the most pleasant temperatures.

We recommend packing comfortable clothing for warm days and cool nights, sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and a reusable water bottle. If you’re visiting during winter, bring a warm jacket for the desert nights.

Yes, tipping is customary in Morocco. While it’s not mandatory, it’s appreciated as a gesture of gratitude. For drivers and guides, tips typically range from $5–$10 per day, depending on your satisfaction.

It’s best to avoid drinking tap water in Morocco. Opt for bottled or filtered water, which is widely available, to stay hydrated.

The official languages are Arabic and Berber. French is also widely spoken, especially in cities and tourist areas. English is increasingly spoken in hotels, restaurants, and among tour operators.

  • Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious or rural areas.
  • Always ask for permission before taking photos of people, particularly women.
  • Greet people with “Salam Alaikum” (peace be upon you), a common Arabic greeting.
  • Bargaining is expected in markets and souks, so don’t be shy to negotiate.

Moroccan cuisine is rich and flavorful, featuring dishes like tagines, couscous, pastilla, and a variety of fresh salads. Be sure to try Moroccan mint tea, a staple of the culture. If you have dietary restrictions, let us know so we can accommodate your needs.
