Day 2

Marrakech (City Tour)

On this 10 Day Tour Chefchaouen to Tangier, an exciting day awaits in Marrakesh, where the city’s vibrant sights and sounds will enchant and dazzle you. Start with a morning tour, visiting Bahia Palace and Dar Si Said, known for their intricate tile work and floral painted-wood ceilings. Then, dive into Berber culture at the Tiskiwin Museum, where authentic tents, carpets, basketwork, and ancient jewelry await. Continue to Dar El Bacha, one of Marrakesh’s most beautiful palaces, showcasing multicolored mosaics and Berber-style architecture. Finally, explore Jemaa El Fna square, where juice stalls, water sellers, snake charmers, and entertainers fill the space by day. In the evening, the square transforms with dancing boys, storytellers, and magicians. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Marrakech to Boumalen Dades

We depart early from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. On the way to Skoura Valley, we cross the High Atlas, reaching 2260 meters, offering breathtaking views. Our first stop is the Kasbah of Aït-Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, a local guide will take us through the site, followed by lunch nearby.

The Kasbah is a cluster of small fortresses, some towering 10 meters high. While most residents now live in a modern village, eight families still reside in the old Kasbah. This iconic site has appeared in famous films like Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.

After lunch, we continue to the Dades Valley, nestled between the High Atlas and Jbel Saghro mountains. Known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs,” the area features numerous kasbahs and lush oases.

Our journey takes us through the Dades Gorge and Todra Gorges, famous for their dramatic canyon walls. The sunlight barely reaches this deep valley, and the river is icy cold. We’ll stay here overnight, with dinner at a riad.

Day 4

Boumalen Dades to Merzouga

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, enjoying incredible views of the Dades Valley.

Next, we drive from Todra to visit the Moroccan Grand Canyon. Afterward, we’ll enjoy lunch in the canyon region before continuing our journey to Merzouga.

Following lunch, we head to Merzouga, making a stop to explore old desert tunnels built to capture water from underground rivers around the 14th century. Then, we continue to Erfoud, the last city before Merzouga.

Upon arriving in Merzouga, your camels will be ready for a 1-hour ride to your desert camp.

You’ll have dinner in the desert, followed by Berber music around the fire. Finally, you’ll rest in your Berber tent for the night.

Day 5

Merzouga to Fez

Wake up early to catch the sunrise atop a sand dune. Afterward, enjoy breakfast and a final hour of camel riding back to our car in Merzouga. Our next stop is Fez, but along the way, you’ll experience amazing landscapes and memorable moments.

First, we’ll make a quick stop in Midelt, a charming town nestled between the Middle and Grand Atlas mountains, offering breathtaking views of the Atlas landscape.

Soon, we’ll arrive in Ifrane, a small hill town with a Swiss alpine feel. Surrounded by natural reserves like the Ifrane National Park and the Cedar Forest, this town is known for its cool weather and abundant snow in winter.

As we drive through, you’ll see giant cedar forests and colonies of monkeys, similar to those in Gibraltar.

By the end of the day, we’ll arrive in Fez and drop you off at your hotel.

Day 6

Fez City Tour

Welcome to Fes, the grandest of Morocco’s Imperial Cities. The Fès el-Bali medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a sensory overload. Winding lanes lead to bustling bazaars, fragrant food stands, craft workshops, mosques, and a constant stream of people. As we walk along narrow alleys, you’ll find tables piled high with spices, dried fruits, fresh fish, silk, and leather goods. Fez’s residents have worked the same stalls for centuries, continuing medieval traditions. Everywhere, cats roam the streets, adding to the medina’s charm.

The tour will include stops at Bab Boujloud, the Mellah, and the Jamaa Al-Karaouine, the world’s oldest continually operating university, founded in 859. Its inner courtyard is adorned with intricate geometric patterns. We’ll also explore the Medersa Bouanania complex, the spiritual heart of Fez. Don’t miss the Chouara tanneries, where leather is still made using methods unchanged since medieval times. If time allows, we’ll visit the artisan workshops, the souks, and Batha Museum, a former royal palace turned museum, housing over 6,000 artifacts.

Chefchaouen Street

Day 7

Fez to Chefchaouen

Start your Morocco tour after breakfast in Fes, heading to Chefchaouen with stops at Sid Chehd Lake and Ouazan City. Arrive in Chefchaouen around lunchtime and enjoy a meal at an open-air café in the famous Outa el Hammam square. Nestled between two peaks in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is a hidden gem. The town’s blue and whitewashed houses, red-tiled roofs, and artistic doorways reflect Andalusian influence from refugees escaping the Reconquista.

After lunch, explore the medina, shop for woven goods and sweets, and sample the town’s famous goat’s cheese. Herds of goats roam the hills surrounding Chefchaouen, and their cheese is sold in fresh rounds at street markets. Visit the Kasbah, its ethnographic museum, and enjoy stunning views from the rooftop. Chefchaouen is a small, safe town perfect for wandering. Spend your free afternoon and evening relaxing at the heart of the town in the square.
