Continuing through Ouirgane, the road becomes more dramatic, leading to the Oued River, which has carved a striking canyon over millennia. Strolling through the Berber souks, we’ll uncover hidden treasures tucked into tiny street stalls.
Tonight, we relax in a lush garden, embracing the shift to a slower, more tranquil pace.

Departing early, we journey through breathtaking mountain scenery. Two high passes offer ever-expanding views as we approach Tafraout, where pink-hued granite mountains rise around us. Nestled in the Anti-Atlas at 1,200m, Tafraout’s landscape is shaped like a natural amphitheater. The region is famous for its collective granaries—fortified storehouses that once protected vital resources.
Arriving in Tafraout, we’ll indulge in its famed almond and prune tagine. As the sun sets, the fiery peaks create a mesmerizing scene. We’ll also visit the Painted Rocks, an open-air masterpiece by Belgian artist Jean Verame. These vibrantly colored boulders blend art and nature in a surreal landscape.
Finally, we explore the ancient granaries—fortified stone structures used for storage and protection. These multi-level buildings showcase the ingenuity and communal spirit of the Berber people, offering a fascinating glimpse into their history.
Day 3
After breakfast, we visit Tafraout’s ancient granaries, perched on rocky peaks for protection. The evening is yours to relax.
Day 4
Leaving Tafraout, we cross the Anti-Atlas through the stunning Ameln Valley. A stop at Kerdous Peak offers panoramic views before we descend into a landscape of palm groves and rocky plateaus. Along the way, we meet locals and learn about their traditions.
Next, we visit Tiznit, Morocco’s “silver capital,” renowned for its skilled artisans and vibrant souks. The town’s friendly atmosphere makes it a delightful place to explore. After browsing its renowned jewelry shops, we continue to Agadir.
Arriving in the late afternoon, we check into a beachfront hotel. The evening is yours to relax by the ocean, take a stroll along the promenade, or enjoy fresh seafood as the sun dips below the Atlantic horizon.

Spanning 33,800 hectares, it’s home to diverse landscapes—rolling dunes, rugged cliffs, and sprawling Argan forests. This protected haven shelters rare wildlife, including the endangered Northern Bald Ibis.
Walking along scenic trails, we’ll spot migratory birds such as flamingos and spoonbills. Nearby, traditional Berber villages showcase ancient farming and herding traditions, offering insight into their way of life.
After a full day of exploration, we unwind with a sunset over the park’s golden sands before returning to Agadir for a restful evening.

Reaching Essaouira by afternoon, we check into our hotel before diving into the city’s artistic and cultural scene. This UNESCO-listed medina blends Berber, Portuguese, and French influences. The vibrant port, historic ramparts, and maze-like alleys create an enchanting atmosphere.
With strong coastal winds, Essaouira is a paradise for surfers. The day ends with a stroll along the beach or a seafood feast at the bustling harbor. Overnight in Essaouira.
Day 7
Spend the morning soaking up Essaouira’s relaxed vibe. Visit the bustling market, where local artisans sell handcrafted goods. After a leisurely lunch, we begin our journey back to Marrakech.
